Reed Harradine - Competitive Background in Soccer and Football
Reed Harradine recently transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He currently serves as the first-string kicker and kickoff specialist for the Golden Eagles, building on his successful collegiate football career. A member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Mr. Harradine blends academic discipline with athletic determination as he works toward a future in the NFL or a finance role within the league.
Before joining Southern Miss, Mr. Harradine studied accounting and finance at Grambling State University in Louisiana, where he also made an immediate impact on the football team as the first-string kicker and kickoff specialist during the 2024 season. His performance on the field was matched by his academic achievements, earning him induction into the National Society of Leadership and Success. While at Grambling, he also worked part-time as a server at the Park Ave Diner in Ruston.
Mr. Harradine began his college journey at the University of Alabama before transferring to Grambling State. His athletic foundation was rooted in soccer, a sport he began playing as soon as he could walk. By age eight, he was competing in organized leagues, eventually specializing as a goalkeeper. He played at elite levels with the Elite Competitive National League and the Olympic Development Program, gaining a reputation for his strong presence in goal. In 2022, he helped lead his team at Mountain Brook High School to a state championship, recording five consecutive shutouts during a standout season. At the same time, he contributed to the soccer community by refereeing youth games for players ages eight to twelve.
Mr. Harradine’s transition to football began at age 14, when he began training with Coach Mike McCabe of One On One Kicking, a nationally respected football kicking development program. Under Coach McCabe’s guidance, he developed skills in placekicking and punting that would shape the next stage of his athletic career. He continues to train with One On One Kicking during the off-season, remaining focused on refinement and readiness.
In addition to his own training, Mr. Harradine has shared his experience with younger athletes in the Birmingham, Alabama area, mentoring aspiring kickers and punters and helping them build both confidence and technique. His commitment to continuous growth, leadership, and service reflects the values that have driven his success in sports and academics alike.
Outside of football, Mr. Harradine enjoys golf and fishing and remains dedicated to balancing his athletic and academic pursuits as he prepares for future opportunities in the professional sports world.
